Botanical name:Lavandula stoechas 'Otto Quast'

This round shrub will grow to about 3' high and has small, gray/green leaves with purple, lavender, and blue flowers that bloom in summer. More prostrate than its parent Lavandula stoechas.

This Japanese Maple grows as a small, deciduous tree complete with palmate leaves that turn red and endure for the entire season.

Coral Bark Maple

Botanical name:Acer palmatum 'Sango Kaku'

The Coral Bark Japanese Maple is a small tree standing 20-25 feet tall and 20-25 feet wide. It is similar to the palmatum and its coral stems turn a vibrant crimson in winter.

Lily of the Nile

Common name:Lily of the Nile
Botanical name:Agapanthus africanus

This evergreen groundcover/shrub will grow about 3' tall and has large green leaves with blue flowers ( there is a white variety) that bloom in spring and summer. It will grow in all soils but prefers loam soil.

Soils and Compost:

Maintain a two to four inch layer of mulch on the soil surface to reduce weeds, infiltrate rain water, and reduce compaction.

Remove irrigation water and fertilizer from areas where you don't want weeds to grow.
