The Dutch Iris are really hybrids of the Spanish Iris. Plant the bulbs about 4 inches deep in a sunny spot and a well-drained soil. A mulch for winter protection is a good idea.

The decidupous rhizomes of this Peruvian lily will often run aggressively if not controlled. They grow best in full to part sun with some summer watering in dry climates. The florist strains can reach 6' tall, while the compact strains range from 12-36" For extra long, florist quality stems, stake or grow through netting for support. -Moterey Bay Nursery

White Baccopa is a prostrate ground cover with white flowers. It stays under 12" in height.

Foxglove

Common name:Foxglove
Botanical name:Digitalis purpurea

This biennial foxglove will reach up to 4' when blooming in the early summer. The large spire of huge, bell-shaped flowers ranges from purple to pink to cream with purple specks. Large, textured leaves form an attractive rosette until bloom time. The plant likes a moist, filtered-sun area similar to the Lobelias and Columbines. -Holland Wildflower Farm
